Ukhrul is a town that is situated in the Ukhrul district of the state of Manipur. The town is mainly populated by people who are known as Tangkhul Nagas. The town has a rich culture and one can have a phenomenal experience of small town life in this place. There are various dances and traditions that can be witnessed in the place and these are unique to the region. One can see women wearing a traditional dress called as Kashan and men wearing a shawl that is called Howrah.
There are numerous villages that dot the region and visiting them can be a good experience as well. The villagers are friendly and hospitable. Some of the main tourist attractions in the place include numerous waterfalls and caves. One can visit the Shiroi Peak or Shirui Kashung while visiting the town. This place is well known for Shirui Lily. Some of the other tourist sites include Khankhui Cave, Dilly Waterfall, Hungdung Manga Cave, Azoa Jenephiu Magi Lake, Khayang Peak, Phangreig Picnic Spot and Nillai Tea Estate. There are numerous saline springs that are located here as well and some of them are at Kalhang, Marem, Rajai and Maramphung.
